FAQs
PREPARATION / WHAT TO LOOK OUT FOR WHEN SETTING UP?
- We recommend you plan for sufficient time (approx. 1 – 2 days) and ideally 2-3 helpers.
- Do not assemble and bury the foundation frame in advance The respective foundation frame profile is always connected directly to the corresponding component (e.g. front gable). The foundation frame profiles are shorter than the floor profiles.
- Sort the profiles for the respective modules (e.g. front gable, roof, etc.) Basic information: Profiles for windows and doors are packed in a separate box and already bundled as a module (e.g. profiles for the roof window). Compare the cross-sections and dimensions of the profiles using a tape measure and referring to the pictures in the instructions.
- Assemble “step by step” according to the instructions

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF A GREENHOUSE?
Greenhouses offer many advantages, such as the ability to grow plants in a protected space, regardless of the weather conditions or the time of year. Greenhouses also offer greater control over the soil, humidity and temperature, making it easier to meet the needs of plants.
Other advantages include the ability to control pests and weeds and the possibility of growing a greater variety of plants than would be possible outdoors.
Finally, a greenhouse can also offer a wonderful retreat to relax and entertain family and friends.
WHAT ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTORS TO CONSIDER WHEN CHOOSING A GREENHOUSE?
Various aspects should be considered when buying a greenhouse.
Firstly, it is important to consider how the greenhouse will be used. Is it used for growing fruit and vegetables or for overwintering potted plants?
Or perhaps as a small oasis to relax and enjoy in your own garden?
For all considerations, you should research the quality and workmanship of the construction and the glazing technology. You need to be sure that harsh weather conditions will not harm the structure.
DO I NEED A BUILDING CONSENT FOR MY GREENHOUSE?
Depending on the region or size you choose, a consent may be required. We are happy to explain the information you need and assist you with any applications.
WHAT MAKES A GOOD GREENHOUSE?
A sophisticated and stable aluminium construction, matched with optimum glazing technology. Plus an extensive range of additional options, especially for glazing and accessories.
For more than 15 years, Torium’s manufacturer has stood for modern, sophisticated and aesthetic greenhouses, and use of the best materials for every model.
WHERE SHOULD I PLACE THE GREENHOUSE?
There is a popular saying that the gable ends should be aligned on a north-south axis. This prevents the strong midday sun from hitting the larger side surfaces.
However, in all considerations, a greenhouse needs the best possible light spectrum for plantgrowth. So there is no right or wrong orientation, because each property must be considered on its own merits.
We always recommend a sheltered yet sunny position.
WHICH TYPE OF GLAZING IS BEST SUITED?
In addition to the design, the glazing is a key factor for successful “gardening”. We generally recommend the use of ISO hollow chamber sheets made of polycarbonate or toughened safety glass for our greenhouses. With ISO twin-wall sheets, it is particularly important to ensure that the thickness of the sheets is suitable for the intended use and that they are UV-protected against premature weathering.
Twin-wall sheets in themselves are ideal when it comes to gardening e.g. the cultivation and overwintering of plants. Toughened safety glass is particularly suitable if the greenhouse is also to be used as an outdoor living space, and the focus here is on an unrestricted view.
